Arab Potash Company spends JD17m in 2012 to support local communities

Arab Potash Company (APC) Chairman of the Board of Directors H.E. Jamal Al Sarayrah announced that APC has concluded its corporate social responsibility (CSR) budget commitments for 2012, which amounted to JD10m, in addition to a separate JD7m grant that was given to APC retirees.
H.E. Al Sarayrah also indicated, "The various allocations under the CSR budget were based on priorities identified in coordination with local authorities and civil society institutions. This included support for water and sanitation projects, construction of public facilities, health services, professional and labor associations, charity organizations, Al Khair Campaign, clubs and sports federations, municipalities, the maintenance of mosques and churches, media and literary activities, pockets of poverty, student grants, and schools and universities. These programmes have benefitted over 2,000 organizations and around 100,000 citizens. In addition, the JD7m grant to APC retirees benefitted around 1,400 retired employees."
Commenting on this support, H.E. Al Sarayrah stated, "The Arab Potash Company focuses on fulfilling His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein's vision by supporting local communities and working to fulfill their needs in order to raise living standards and help upgrade the services provided for citizens across various sectors. At APC, we consider supporting the citizens and institutions of our country as a duty and a commitment that we fulfill with pride. We work to promote the importance of giving as a means of achieving social cohesion."
