Arabian Water and Power Forum kicks off in Dubai 24-25 September 2012

The CWC Group's 'Arabian Water & Power Forum' will kick off in Dubai on September 24 2012 at the Atlantis, The Palm Hotel on Dubai's Palm Jumeirah.

The event is held under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, and will run until September 25, 2012, welcoming leading experts from the energy, water and power industries.

Speakers confirmed at the this high profile event include H.E. Dr Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad, the UAE's Minister for Environment & Water; H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman, Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, MD & CEO of DEWA; H.E. Dr Saleh Alawaji, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Saudi Electricity Company & Deputy Minister for Electricity, Saudi Ministry of Electricity & Water; H.E. Uday Awad MP, Head of the Electricity Committee, Iraqi Parliament; Nafa Abdulsada Ali Al-Humeadwe, Director General - Energy Distribution, Iraq Ministry of Electricity; David Scott, Executive Director of Economic & Energy Affairs, UAE Executive Affairs Authority; Einar Al Hareeri, Head of Electricity Demand Forecasting Section, ADWEC; Dr Hamda Ali Al-Thani, Director of the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority; Dr Corrado Sommariva, Managing Director, ILF, President, IDA.

"Following the unprecedented success of CWC's Saudi Water & Power Forum over the past 8 years, this event has drawn the attention of senior government officials along with key decision makers from the energy industry and will explore strategies for balancing water and power demand with efficient use of regional resources," said H Frederic Ponton, The CWC Group's Director of Government Relations - Middle East.

Melissa Rambridge, Event Director said: "The Forum will provide delegates with two full days of sessions, workshops, roundtable discussions, and networking functions that will focus on strategies and technologies surrounding optimisation of power and water management, close evaluation of the very latest IPP & IWPP project and the diversification of solutions to meet future water and power demand."

The CWC Group will also host the Arabian Water & Power Forum Awards for Innovation in Sustainability after the Forum's first day concludes. The ceremony will recognise and reward companies and professionals who have demonstrated exceptional talent and innovation through work on sustainable power and water projects.

"The Arabian Water & power Forum Awards will recognise and reward those professionals, companies and government institutions who have shown exceptional talent and innovation through the latest sustainable power and water project," added Rambridge.
