It's not just what your strengths are but also what others bring to the table in a partnership - with that concept in mind, teams from Latin America's third largest economy, Argentina, met with representatives of the Middle East's business hub, Dubai, over two days of pure business meetings.
Around 240 companies from Argentina met with 470 companies from the UAE from January 14 to January 15 to discuss mutually beneficial ventures that could bring value to their businesses while also support the economies of their countries.
The Baniyas Grand Ballroom at the city's iconic Grand Hyatt Dubai Hotel was full to its capacity and brimming with ideas on how to capitalize on current business or diverge into new markets.
The energetic and creative entrepreneurs, businessmen and company representatives met, discussed and built new relations on the basis of a common goal - to boost trade between the two countries.
Companies from both countries represented multiple sectors, including home and construction, machinery, manufactured article, services, food and beverages, labs and chemical industries, apparel and shoes, and institutional.
The prime purpose of the event was to provide a platform to these companies so that they could build lasting relationship and both days proved to be successful for the visitors and the host companies.
Dawood Al Shezawi, the chief executive officer of Strategic Marketing and Exhibition, opined that the B2B meetings were instrumental in developing business relations.
"The trade mission will provide Argentinian companies a platform to familiarize themselves with the multiple business opportunities available in the UAE markets," said Al Shezawi.
"It will also give them an opportunity to develop business contacts with key players of the economy, senior decision makers, urban planners, architects, engineers, builders, construction professionals and more," he added.
The president of Argentinian group Muresco, Mr. Ing Ricardo Moris, found the event to be very effective. "The UAE is full of opportunities and it was a pleasure to meet some great companies during the meetings. Such trade missions can go a long way in building lucrative business relations."
Muresco, one of the attendees of the trade mission, was founded in 1972 and is one of the leading factories in South America, supplying the domestic market demand and domestic - operation of all its products.
With frequent flights between the two countries and Argentinian cuisine making its way in Dubai, it's only a matter of time till the business partnerships and deals lead to long-term economic ties between the two countries.
