- PRESS RELEASE
The Ascott Limited (Ascott), a wholly-owned serviced residence business unit of CapitaLand, has organized its first blood donation drive with the Dubai Health Authority and the Dubai Blood Donation Centre for the guests and staff at Ascott Park Place Dubai.
Mr Melvin Quah, Area Manager for Ascott in the Gulf Region said, "This is the first blood donation drive we have organised in Dubai and we are extremely pleased with the outcome. It is heartwarming to see everyone come together for a good cause. Throughout the world, Ascott have organised many community initiatives to give back to the community and it is no different here in Dubai. We are extremely thankful for everyone who have supported us for this initiative and we hope we've created an example for other companies to follow."
"The 10 minutes spent donating blood can save many lives. One pint of donated blood can help save up to 5 lives and it is one of easiest ways to make an impact in someone's life," he added.
Ascott has previously organised a blood donation drive at Somerset West Bay, its other serviced residence in Doha. Other community initiatives include beach clean ups at Al Wakra Beach in Doha and Al Fateh Corniche in Bahrain. Ascott also organises its own Ascott earth day the first Friday of every month - where all non-essential lightings are switched off - in a collective effort to be a greener hospitality company.
The Ascott Limited has a network of over 1,000 apartment units across six properties in four countries in the Gulf region. Besides Ascott Park Place Dubai and Somerset West Bay Doha, Ascott also manages Somerset Al Fateh Bahrain and the newly opened Ascott Doha. Currently under development, Somerset Panorama Muscat and Sohar Garden Residences are expected to open over the next 24 months
