Aspire extends Walkabout program following overwhelming enthusiasm from public

Following tremendous enthusiasm from members of the community, Aspire Logistics, part of the Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF), has extended its 'Aspire Walkabout' series until the September 9.

Open to everyone to participate, the Walkabout, inside the magnificent Aspire Dome, got underway on 7th August and is open every day from 4-6pm and 8pm to midnight for both male and female adults, whilst children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a guardian. The schedule will remain the same until the 9th September.

Hundreds of participants have flocked to utilize the indoor space of the Dome since the opening of the Aspire Walkabout. One participant commented, "I normally walk around Aspire Park but the heat was preventing me from doing so. I was really excited when I found out about the Walkabout. It's wonderful to be able to use AZF's prestigious facilities after dark and free of charge."

The Aspire Walkabout includes multiple routes catering to beginners (the yellow route-500m), while a second route includes stairs for more active participants (the blue route-850m).

The Aspire Walkabout was originally a two-week service, where residents and staff could exercise at the Dome to escape the summer heat and to utilize any personal time during Ramadan. Due to the overwhelming response by the public, AZF has extended the program 9th September.

Walking is regarded as one of the easiest and cheapest ways to exercise. Regular walking reduces the risk of certain medical conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease and depression.

The Aspire Walkabout is organized by Aspire Logistics as part of its commitment to promote a healthy and active lifestyle to the community, and is part of Aspire Logistics corporate social responsibility. It comes after the hosting of the extremely successful Ramadan Sports Festival.
