Audi cancels R8 e-tron production plans
- Germany: Sunday, October 28 - 2012 at 03:53
German carmaker Audi has scrapped plans to produce its all-electric supercar for mass consumption, Wired has reported, citing a company source. The decision was attributed to disadvantages of existing battery technology and the changing priorities of Audi's new head of R&D. Audi unveiled the R8 e-tron concept three years ago at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and announced plans to put it into production within the next four years.
