Audi Oman to support Oman's inaugural Pro-Am golf tournament

Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club will soon be host to the inaugural BankDhofar
Pro-Am Tournament. The Pro-Am event will be held on Oman's first grass championship golf course on the 7th and 8th of November 2012. This will be the first golf event featuring professional golfers to be staged in Oman.

The event is expected to assist in the ongoing development of the game of golf domestically as well as increasing Oman's growing reputation in the GCC Region as a first class golfing destination.

Audi Oman will actively support the first ever Pro-Am event in Oman as Gold Sponsor and Official Carrier.

"The Pro-Am enjoys an excellent reputation in the golfing scene, and we are looking forward to accompanying this high-calibre tournament's inception into Oman," said Abdel Karim Awwad, National Sales and Marketing Manager of Audi Oman.

The Pro-Am Tournament will be played over 18 holes on 8th November in a Team alliance format, with the Professionals also competing for individual honors. The 7th of November is dedicated for competitors practice and to enjoy a fun filled auction dinner in the evening. The field will be made up of 25 teams featuring regionally based professionals along with three amateur players in a team. The prize fund is over OMR 1000 and will be competed for by the professional players, while the amateurs will compete for team prizes.

Audi has been successfully involved in golf for two decades. Technology, design and sporting performance are hallmarks of every Audi vehicle and are synonymous with the precision sport of golf. Audi's own amateur golf tournament series, the Audi quattro Cup, was established in 1991. Over one million golfers took part in one of the Audi quattro Cup tournaments during the last 21 years.
