AUS introduces its personal, social and cultural growth opportunities to Bahraini students

American University of Sharjah (AUS), ranked one of the top 450 universities worldwide by QS World University Ranking, announced that it will host open sessions for students in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The AUS team will visit more than 15 schools. Prospective students will be introduced to the university's accredited programmes, its tradition of academic excellence and multicultural campus life.

AUS representatives will be available to meet Bahraini students at Holiday Inn Express, Manama on February 10 - 14, 2013.

Students and their parents can visit the venue between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm to learn about the personal growth, education and career advantages offered by AUS.

The rigors of comprehensive academic courses at AUS are tempered by its superb facilities for recreation, social and personal development through sports, the arts and culture. This combination of work and play is an integral part of all-round student development at the University.

AUS Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management Ali Shuhaimy stated, "In Bahrain, we will listen to and advise prospective students and their parents about how to select the right university for them and the unique opportunities offered by AUS. Our programmes are delivered by international and highly qualified faculty members where the majority holds terminal degrees in their area of expertise. We also offer a great educational environment where students are challenged and encouraged to develop their critical thinking, communication skills and leadership style."

A large proportion of AUS students come from all over the Middle East - from countries such as Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Algeria and Egypt besides the Gulf, and even from the US and the UK. In 2012, AUS had oncampus students from over 80 different nationalities.

The open session provides interested students the opportunity to discover whether they can pursue their studies in at AUS. Being one of the leading providers of American higher education in the Gulf region, AUS is a competitive university that accepts distinguished students who are among the top 20% of their high school graduating class.

AUS, recently ranked among the top 450 universities worldwide by QS World University Ranking, is also accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the United Arab Emirates and by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in the United States.

AUS' bachelor of science programmes in chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering are accredited by ABET, of the United States while the Bachelor of Architecture programme of the College of Architecture, Art and Design is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) of the United States.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) as well as the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) degrees are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
