- PRESS RELEASE
Averda, the region's largest environmental solutions provider, is participating in 2012 United Nations Climate Change Conference COP18/CMP Doha by offering sustainable solutions at the event and around Doha.
As part of its participation and to help drive the event's sustainability goals, Averda is collecting recyclables from the COP18 offices, the offices of the Minister at the Ministry of Environment, and information booths located in many prominent locations around Doha including Aspire Park, Katara and the Museum of Islamic Art.
To encourage people to recycle at the climate change exhibition in the Doha exhibition center, Averda has deployed its reverse vending machines (RVMs) for the duration of the event. This innovative recycling solution by ReVa accepts plastic bottles and cans in exchange for rewards.
Additionally, Averda will ensure that one of its ReVa RVMs and a number of recyclable bins will be widely available at the Doha Oasis March.
Recyclables will be collected by Averda from across Doha, on behalf of the COP18 organizers. Locations will include spots next to water coolers in Doha Exhibition Centre, to collect recyclables, as well as the COP18 information booths.
"Through our participation in COP18 we are demonstrating our commitment to encouraging environmentally beneficial practices, and to achieving sustainability in Qatar. COP18 presents a unique opportunity for Averda to demonstrate its dedication to providing accessible recyclable solutions across Doha, while educating residents on the importance of recycling," said Khouri.
In its role as a sustainability partner for COP18, Averda is committed to making recycling more accessible, and to raising awareness of environmental issues across Doha.
