Awareness section at DM environment department holds customer's forum

In a bid to strengthen mutual relations and to better the services, Awareness Section at Dubai Municipality Environment Department convened a forum for its customers and beneficieries.

55 environment campaign coordinators from 47 government and private schools across the Emirate participated in the forum.

While presiding over the forum, Eng. Hamdan Al Shaer, Director, DM environment department said the forum comes as part of keenness of Dubai Municipality to build bridges of cooperation with various strata of the society as well as to enrich its initiatives through sharing of experiences and practices.

"Our efforts in the field of environment need wide cooperation from various sections of society, to be fielded well. Forums like this, we see, as a perfect way to know opinions, observations suggestions and even the new dimensions of the subject" he said.

Ayesha Al Murr, senior environment awareness officer in the section introduced various initiatives and efforts Dubai Municipality carried out last year and briefed on proposed targets and the results achieved so far.

"Workshops and lectures organized in schools helped accelerate the efforts to spread green messages across young generation as well as parent community," she said while commenting on the programs.

She said,last year, the section carried out 111 programs including workshops and lectures in various schools across the emirate, through which more than 2,000 students were educated on a variety of themes and issues related to environment.

Honouring and felicitation session followed the presentations and discussions.

Hamdan Al Shaer and Sara Ibrahim Al-Sayegh, Head of Environment Awareness Section gave away the certificates and mementos.
