- PRESS RELEASE
Axiom Telecom has announced that 2012 was another year of significant growth. The innovative telecommunications retailer currently holds a 71 % share of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) handset market (based on revenue generated to date), and 30 new stores were opened across the region (a 25% increase).
Since July 2011, Axiom Telecom's bold expansion activities have increased its customer base by 47% through greater footfall to new and existing stores.
Much of Axiom Telecom's eye-catching 2012 performance is down to an ability to debut must-have devices ahead of the competition, with notable highlights including Samsung Galaxy S3, Nokia Lumia 920, iPad Mini, iPad4, iPhone5 and Samsung Galaxy Note II.
In addition, Axiom Telecom continues to stand out for a host of customer service innovations such as a 60-second data transfer, 1 hour express repair for key brands such as BlackBerry, a pick-up and delivery service for repairs, stand-by phones during the repair period, and a 2-year warranty on select brands.
"Axiom Telecom is a true UAE business success story, and our growth is entirely down to an intimate understanding of customer needs, as well as an ability to meet, and indeed surpass, expectations at every turn," said Faisal Al Bannai, CEO, Axiom Telecom.
"The Axiom shopping experience - whether online or in-store - is carefully and intricately evolved with the customer in mind. We know that people do not want to wait for the latest and greatest products, so we pull out all the stops provide people what they want, when they want it - without compromising on a full spectrum of customer support."
"2012 has been a memorable year for us, and we look forward to building on our achievements over the next twelve months in both the Middle East and beyond," added Al Bannai.
Beyond the bottom line, Axiom continued its strong commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), with initiatives ranging from community and employee engagement to environmental care. The latter includes a trade-in programme for old phones at all Axiom stores to encourage recycling.
Axiom also became a sustainability network member at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce-run Center for Responsible Business. In recognition of its commitment to responsible business, Axiom was awarded the Dubai Chamber of Commerce CSR Label.
Other high-profile accolades from 2012 include the Dubai Government Department of Economic Development's Dubai Quality Award.
Axiom Telecom now stands on its own as the Middle East's leading multi-brand, multi-channel distributor of mobile telecommunications handsets, accessories and telecom services. The company has a presence in the UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, boasting a portfolio of 575 retail points and reaches over 3,742 points of sale across the region. It also has stores in India and the UK.
Axiom Telecom's retail dominance is underpinned by a sophisticated business plan centering on continuous improvement.
For example, the company is one of the few brands in the region to have invested heavily in systems such as the Toyota Production System (TPS), as well as cutting-edge business philosophies such as 5s, Kaizen, process Improvements and productivity improvements. Axiom Telecom is also certified to the ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 international standards for quality and environmental management
Process improvements alone have recently resulted in direct financial savings of more than Dhs1m through waste elimination, as well as additional qualitative savings through efficiency enhancements related to productivity, customer satisfaction and services.
