Bahrain broadband rates down 53%

Bahrain's Telecoms Regulatory Authority (TRA) has said fixed broadband prices in the kingdom dropped by up to 53% between 2011 and 2012, while mobile prices have fallen by up to 30%, Gulf Daily News has reported. Despite price reductions in 2012, fixed broadband in Bahrain remains relatively expensive compared to other GCC countries (particularly residential prices), the watchdog said. The TRA expects faster and new services from the auction of additional spectrum planned next month.
