Bahrain to commission two STGs next month

Bahrain Petroleum Co (Bapco) is set to launch in April two new steam turbo-generators (STG) built at a cost of $110m aimed at improving the reliability and operability of the power generation system in the refinery at Sitra and other facilities, Gulf Daily News has reported. "The two STGs developed over the last two years have a capacity of 14 megawatts each and are now fully operational," Bapco deputy chief executive, Ebrahim Talib, told the daily. "The project will result in significant maintainability improvement and hence cost savings, and most importantly will further enhance the safety within the power plant," he said.
