Bahraini health ministry has denied reports of shortage of medicines in the kingdom to combat the influenza viruses, Daily Tribune has reported. "The rumours that are spreading is creating panic among people, which is stopping the public from taking the free vaccination that is available at all health centres. The centres also have adequate amount of antibiotics in stock," said the ministry's public health and primary health care assistant undersecretary, Dr Maryam Al Jalahma. "This season of the year and especially with winter coming in late in Bahrain, is the peak time for strains of influenza viruses A and B to be detected and hence the vaccination could be of help. This is not only for chronic patients but also for others," said Dr Al Jalahma.
