Bahrain Minister to look at challenges facing finance profession at ACCA networking event

His Excellency Dr Abdul-Hussain Bin Ali Mirza, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, will be guest of honour at an exclusive networking event for members of ACCA (the Association of Chartered Accountants) and BAA (Bahrain Accountants Association) in Bahrain on 28 February.

Minister Dr. Mirza will present to the professional accountant community in Bahrain and those participating from the Gulf region, his experience in his present and past at Bapco and Government roles, He will also be speaking on the changing role of accountants in the 21st century and the challenges they face, at the event which will be held at Bahrain's Diplomat Radisson Blu.

ACCA finance professionals attending the event will hear about ACCA's developments and future plans in the Middle East from Stuart Dunlop, Regional Director ACCA MENASA. He will also be speaking about ACCA's research into the business need for the complete finance professional.

Anis Motorwala, head of ACCA Northern Gulf, said, "We are delighted that His Excellency is joining us and will address the changing role of accountants and the challenges they face in the 21st Century. Bahrain has a long history of being a financial services centre within the region, and this provides an opportunity for senior members to hear the insights from the Minister. We are also delighted that we have an opportunity to share ACCA's plans for the region and to share the results of research which show that business leaders increasingly want to recruit complete finance professionals - those who have an understanding of the whole finance chain and process."
