Bahrain's contributions in the aviation sector showcased at the aviation security conference

As part of the Ministry of Transportation Civil Aviation Affairs active involvement with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), His Excellency Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation, had a meeting with the ICAO's Chairman, Mr. Roberto Coupe Gonzalez, where they discussed the Kingdom of Bahrain's contribution and central role in enriching the ICAO's role at both regional and international levels.
The meeting also discussed the framework of cooperation between Bahrain and the ICAO in training and conferences, in addition to the active role entrusted to the Kingdom in civil aviation security since adopting the ICAO's regional office for cooperation in civil aviation security in the Middle East.
His Excellency the Minister expressed to the Chairman his appreciation and gratitude for the role of the ICAO in developing and promoting international aerial navigation.
The Chairman also thanked the Minister and the Kingdom of Bahrain and hoped that the efforts of both parties would favourably contribute to the international air transport industry.
His Excellency Mr. Kamal bin Ahmed also met with Singapore's Minister of Transportation and discussed the possible cooperation between the two friendly countries in aerial navigation, safety and security and in training staff at the Singapore Civil Aviation Academy, as well as the exchange of experience, especially that Singapore has tremendous capabilities in such areas.
Singapore also enjoys an international importance in civil aviation, and this will help promote the Bahraini human resource capabilities. The meeting also discussed a number of civil aviation issues such as "trafficking in emissions" imposed by the European Union and support of Bahrain to Singapore in the ICAO elections.
At the end of the meeting, the Singaporean minister expressed to the Minister and to the Kingdom of Bahrain's government and peoples his thanks and gratitude for the ongoing cooperation between the two countries.
The Minister also thanked his Singaporean counterpart and hoped that further cooperation would be witnessed between the two countries in the future.
The meetings were held as part of Bahrain's high -level delegation programme on the sidelines of the ICAO Conference on Aviation Security in Montreal, Canada.
His Excellency Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed held several meetings with the delegation heads of many countries participating in the conference, including ministers and civil aviation officials, to discuss cooperation between Bahrain and the said countries.
The meetings were attended by Mr. Ahmed Nemat Ali, Assistant Undersecretary for Aviation Services, and Mr. Hussain Ahmed Al-Shu'ail, Director of Strategic Planning, Quality Control and Safety at Civil Aviation Affairs, Ministry of Transportation.
