Bank Nizwa to open for public next month

Omani lender Bank Nizwa has announced it is to open for the public in January next year after obtaining final approval from the central bank to initiate Islamic banking services inside the sultanate starting from December 23, Oman Daily Observer has reported. The vank will offer its services to its staff and their families from tomorrow and in within three weeks and following the completion of technical preparations, it will be able to conduct international money transactions, said Dr Jameel al Jarudi, executive chairman of Bank Nizwa.
