Bank Sohar learning centre hosts IBRA technical college students

In another significant engagement in the educational sector in the Sultanate, Bank Sohar hosted a gathering for final year students from IBRA Technical College at the bank's Learning Centre in Qurum.
There, they were given a complete overview and introduction to Bank Sohar and given a behind the scenes insight into the operation of one of Oman's most dynamic and fastest growing banks.
Commenting on the importance of engaging with the education sector, Munira Abdulnabi Macki, DGM HR and Corporate Support of Bank Sohar said, "Students today are the employees, managers and leaders of tomorrow, hence as on organisation, Bank Sohar understands the process of giving them as much exposure to ensure that they are moulded into well informed young professionals. We are glad that the students from IBRI Technical College found the sessions interactive and stimulating and hope to host them, as customers, guests and even prospective employees, in the near future."
During the three hour session, trainers from the Learning Centre familiarized the students with banking, the Bank Sohar way - through an induction about the bank, its vision and mission and its commitment to the community. The students were briefed on the Board Members and Executive Management who helm the affairs at Bank Sohar, and were given an overview of the managerial hierarchy within the bank.
A representative from Corporate Banking then took the students through the various facets, terminology and practices involved with business related banking, and the processes followed by Bank Sohar which ensure customer experience and satisfaction remain at the forefront of every interaction. Following the presentation, an in-depth session was conducted which explained to the aspiring young bankers the Bank's retail products and service channels.
In the final segment, Ifthikhar Ahmed Internal Sharia Reviewer from Bank Sohar's Islamic Banking Unit conducted a session addressing the upcoming launch of the Islamic banking window for Bank Sohar, and detailed the Bank's diligence in matters of Shariah compliance, ensuring the soon to be launched Islamic banking will be the most attractive choice for those customers who choose to bank in accordance with the tenets of Islam.
Concluding the day's programme, the students were enriched with market knowledge as well as the exclusive inputs from the professionals at Bank Sohar. Bank Sohar has since its inception been strongly committed to the growth of education and development programmes in Oman.
