BankDhofar posts 170% surge in net profit

Oman-based BankDhofar has said its net profit surged by 170.07% to OR37.74m for the year ended December 31, 2012, compared with OR13.97m a year earlier, which included a OR26.1m provision for its legal dispute with the erstwhile Oman International Bank (OIB), Muscat Daily has reported. Total assets grew 9.35% to OR2.14bn from OR1.96bn, while operating income increased 7% to OR84.09m from OR78.59m in the previous year. customer deposits grew 7.6% to OR1.63bn in 2012 against OR1.51bn in 2011.
