BaPDA board members meet with Minister of Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning

Board members of Bahrain Property Development Association (BaPDA), the country's leading organization of property development professionals, met with HE Dr Jumaa Al Kaabi, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning to discuss plans for the New Year. Representing BaPDA, Chairman Mr. Aaref Hejres and other members thanked Dr. Jumaa for his support for the association and the positive environment he has promoted for the industry.

During the visit they also discussed about bapda issues, goals and plans for the coming years acquainted Dr. Jumaa with the vision of BaPDA, discussing further plans for the organization and how to integrate its ideals with those of the Ministry and take forward Bahrain's Vision 2030.

Present at the meeting along with Chairman Mr. Aaref Hejres, MD of Diyar Al Muharraq were key members of BaPDA from leading property development companies.

They included Dr. Hassan Al Bastaki, from Manara Development, Dr. Bashar Ahmadi from Orchid Developers, Robert Lee, CEO of Bahrain Bay, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Khaliq of Inovest, Mr. Christopher Sims of Naseej Properties, Mr. Mohammed Khalil Alsayed of Ithmaar Development Company and Mr. Khalil Saleh of Alargan International Real Estate Company.

The BaPDA members discussed with the Minister proposals and recommendations for the property and real estate sector, as well as the upcoming activities in the year ahead.

Mr. Aaref Hejres, Chairman of the Board of BaPDA said, "It was a great honour to meet HE Dr. Jumaa who has helped steer organized real estate in this time of impactful change and advancement of the industry. With his support we hope that BaPDA will continue to make a substantial difference and serve as an effective platform of representation for the property and real estate industry in Bahrain."

Background
The Bahrain Property Development Association (BaPDA) is a non-profit organization established in 2010 with the vision of becoming the Kingdom of Bahrain's recognised property development association. It is a representative organisation that will foster infrastructure services, cooperation, fair trade practices and integrity among its members, while providing a platform for members to liaise with the government authorities in forming best practice policies relating to the industry.

The organization was launched in the presence of 17 CEOs and senior management officials from major development companies in the Kingdom, when it was agreed unanimously on the need for such an organization that would serve to bring them together effectively to benefit the industry in Bahrain.

A Board of Directors was elected with Mr. Aaref Hejres, MD of DIYAR AL MUHARRAQ, Chairman of the Board, Dr Hassan Al Bastaki of Manara Development, Vice Chairman, Dr. Maher Al Shaer of DIYAR AL MUHARRAQ as the Treasurer and Mr. R. Lakshmanan from Sakana Executive Secretary.

BaPDA has pledged to organize, sponsor, and participate, in regional and international meetings, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, and general networking events to promote the property development industry of Bahrain.

It has promised to honor the industry's commitment to the country and participate with all resources available, in the preservation of all aspects of Bahrain's infrastructural, social, cultural and environmental growth.
