Batelco reassures customers of no charges for receiving SMS challenge text messages

Batelco, the Kingdom's leading telecommunications company, would like to reassure its customers that there are no charges for receiving text messages from 95555.

The announcement follows a spate of rumours circulating on social media sites which state that customers are being charged 250fils to receive text messages as part of its current SMS Challenge.

Batelco, Group General Manager Media Relations, Ahmed Al Janahi, said, "Batelco's customers are not charged for receiving text messages from 95555 and that they are only charged for text messages that they send."

Batelco's SMS Challenge, which will run until 18th November offers daily prizes of $265 cash, weekly prizes of $2,650 cash and at the end of the challenge period two very lucky winners will win a BMW Z4 each plus a trip to BMW World in Munich.

Batelco customers can participate in the competition by SMSing 'B' to 95555. The cost for sending text messages as part of this campaign is 490fils per SMS.

Full details about the SMS Challenge, including Terms and Conditions, are available, customers who have already registered to participate may opt-out from the service Free of charge by SMSing Stop to 95556.
