- PRESS RELEASE
Bayer CropScience in cooperation with their local partner Technical Agricultural Co. hosted a one day event for the local farming industry. More than 150 participants from the Emirates and Oman followed the invitation. Regional and global representatives from Bayer talked about the latest product innovation as well as safe handling of crop protection products.
"The interaction between the various players in the food industry - from farmers and processors to dealers - is playing an increasingly important role in satisfying requirements in terms of quality, volume, price, and social and ecological compatibility," explained David James, Marketing and Development Manager Bayer CropScience responsible for the Middle East.
During the event Bayer CropScience presented Smartline, an innovative new packaging that helps farmers to differentiate and identify genuine product from fake or counterfeits that prejudice the safety and security of Middle East Agriculture.
To protect local tomatoes Bayer CropScience introduced its brand BELT to the local market. Belt is a solution to effectively control the spreading of the tomato moth.
Movento, a new insecticide, was also introduced. Researchers working for Bayer CropScience have developed an insecticide with an entirely new mechanism of action. Movento protects plants from within, helping farmers all over the world grow crops from apples through to zucchini, without damaging beneficial organisms like ladybirds or ichneumon wasps.
Bayer is committed to product stewardship. The global expert from Bayer CropScience headquarters demonstrated the right use of personal protection equipment when handling crop protection products.
