- PRESS RELEASE
The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) held a mediation workshop for over 30 Bahrain-based lawyers and legal advisors in Manama. The session, organised in co-operation with the Accord Group, the Australian mediation specialists, provided attendees with key fundamental developments in successful international mediation practice.
Ali Al Aradi, the Chief Registrar and the Assistant CEO for Mediation at the BCDR-AAA said: "Mediation should be the first port of call for parties in dispute. Its confidential facilitated negotiation process is a fast and cost-effective means of resolving the dispute, potentially saving thousands in legal fees.
"We were delighted to be able to host experts from the Accord Group, which has managed the resolution of more than 1,000 cases totalling in excess of $1bn. All attendees will have benefited from the experience and insight provided by Accords' experts.
"Such events are a vital part of our programme to further develop Bahrain as the leading centre for dispute resolution in the Middle East."
The BCDR-AAA continues to encourage business in the region to consider mediation as a route to resolving disputes. Success rates for mediation are estimated at almost 85%, while the process from initiation to completion typically takes less than six weeks, with the actual mediation occurring over one day.
