Blackberrry outage affected up to 6% of EMEA customers: RIM

Research In Motion (RIM) has said the outage that crippled its BlackBerry service in certain markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa region may have impacted up to 6% of its user base. Preliminary analysis suggests the outage caused a maximum delay of three hours in the delivery of messages, said RIM chief executive, Thorsten Heins. The service "is now fully restored and I can report that no data or messages were lost," he said. "We are conducting a full technical analysis of this quality of service issue and will report as soon as it concludes," Heins added.
