World’s Largest Swimming Pool in the Gulf?
Does the idea of going for a swim in a one kilometer-wide pool seem far fetched? That notion may soon become a reality in the Middle East of all places, as Crystal Lagoons, creators of the world’s largest swimming pool - equivalent in size to 6,000 standard residential pools - are in talks with Gulf companies on bringing their technology to the region.
The firm, which will be at Cityscape, has created an artificial lagoon and swimming pool in the South American resort of San Alfonso del Mar in Chile that has been acknowledged as the largest swimming pool in the world by Guinness World Records.
The company claims to be able to create artificial lagoons with turqoise blue, crystal clear water, that is transparent to a depth of 35 metres. The creator of the technology, biochemist and Chilean businessman Fernando Fischmann, will explain the technology in detail at Cityscape.
Is there any doubt that Dubai, home of the world’s highest building and tallest hotel, will want to stake its claim as having the world’s largest swimming pool?
