Emaar is tops in survey of developers

Emaar is the most dominant real estate developer in the region in terms of familiarity and reliability, according to FutureBrand’s 2007 Gulf Real Estate Study obtained by AME Info. The report, which surveyed 300 home buyers and development professionals in

Bahrain and the UAE, found that 81% of respondents knew Emaar well enough to have an opinion about it, giving the developer a significant edge over its rivals Nakheel (58%), Damac (22%), Dubai Properties (19%), and Aldar (13%).

Emaar also came out on top in terms of developer reliability, with 25% of respondents viewing the developer as reliable. However, the relatively low percentage suggests that most respondents do not feel that developers are reliable in their offerings. Nonetheless, Emaar’s percentage was significantly higher than its rivals Nakheel (8%), Aldar (6%), and YK Almoayyed (6%).  AMEinfo will be producing an in-depth look at the study next week as part of its report from Cityscape.

But I wonder if people outside the Middle East have ever heard of Emaar? It seems many tourists have heard loads about the PALM!
