Fuel hedges curb Royal Jordanian’s profit

Royal Jordanian said its fuel hedging policy has led to unrealized losses of about $65.9m. The airline said it had hedged 30% of the fuel forecast for 2008 and 2009 at an average price of about $105 a barrel, resulting in a net loss after tax of $33m, after a fuel bill costing $410m was taken into account.
