Jordan Ahli Bank’s Numismatic Museum’s administration recently held its first tweet-up session hosting Jordan’s most prominent activists on Twitter. The event was aimed at strengthening ties with this segment of the community while also shedding light on the museum’s scope of work and its history.
The tweet-up session was hosted at the museum’s headquarter, which was founded in the year 1999. Today, the museum features a collection by Dr. Nayef Goussous, who is also the Director and Curator of the facility. His collection is a product of 30 years of dedication, and it comprises over 33,000 coins, representing a time period spanning over 2500 years of human civilization. The collection stands alongside valuable artifacts from the Phoenician, Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic eras, not to mention coins from the Nabataean era and various histories of Arab states.
Over the years, the museum had successfully been able to attract visitors from both inside the Kingdom and abroad. Seeing its popularity, the facility’s administration was driven to add to the premises a reference library focusing on the history of coins alongside a conference hall fully furnished with the latest technologies and features.
The tweet-up session comprised a tour of the museum and its different sections, which was then followed by a competition through which first and second place winners each received a JD200 Jordan Ahli Bank Goushan Al Omor account, and the 3rd to 10th place winners each received an Ahli Bank E-Com card charged with JD 50.
Jordan Ahli Bank’s administration affirmed that such events solidify the pivotal role social media activists play in spreading the Jordanian heritage and culture. The bank’s establishment of this museum is one that stems from its genuine interest in preserving the Kingdom and Region’s heritage. The event itself presented an unmatched opportunity for the bank to showcase the museum’s development, as Jordan Ahli Bank views twitter as a strategic platform facilitating the constructive spread of knowledge and opinions.
