The DFM General Index closed 1.23 per cent lower at 3,687.91 points on Monday, January 27. Arabtec bucked the trend, closing 1.18 per cent higher at AED4.28. Only three shares advanced, while 28 declined in value. Emaar slipped by 0.64 per cent to AED7.75. Real estate maintenance and construction firm Drake and Scull International dived by 4.55 per cent to AED1.47. Shares of Emirates NBD fell by 2.10 per cent to AED7.00. Earlier in the day, the biggest lender in the UAE said on Monday that its group net income for 2013 increased by 27 per cent year on year, reaching AED3.256 billion ($887.9 million).
