Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro and CEO of Mayasem Communications Dr. May AlOtaibi signed a Memorandum of Understanding to implement the second version of +973 project to be implemented over the three years and funded by Tamkeen.
+973 project is within national campaign “Wehda Wahda”, which aimes o raise the level of society to the better and to highlight Bahrain’s identity and to support young creative entrepreneurs and to train their skills and stimulate the spirit of the national initiatives through encouraging local talents and develop their manual and technical skills and support their business.
The first version of +973 project has been implemented by Mayasam Communications company under Ministry supervision and funded by Tamkeen starting in November 2012 and over one year, the project has achieved memorable success and well turnout to join the project. 62 pioneers benefit from the first version of +973 project. Some of them were enable to display their products to the public and enter domestic and overseas markets, and others were enable to begin the implementing their own projects.
The project aims in its second year benefiting 150 Bahrainis of both sexes over three years at a rate of 50 pioneers annually.
Dr. Fakhro confirmed the role played by the private sector in enhancing government’s programs that aimed to raise the level of society to the better and enhance Bahrain’s economic position and spread awareness of the importance of initiatives and creative steps of all segment of the society. The Minister appreciates Tamkeen support, praising all efforts made to success this project, expressing his pleasure to provide the support and assistance for all economic activities.
On her part, Dr. May AlOtaibi thanks and appreciates the minister for the support and assistance provided by the ministry for +973 project.
