The portal, www.giiacademy.com, is the first e-learning system of its kind for insurance and risk management in the MENA region and supplements face-to-face learning by providing enrolled students with ongoing support for their courses, leading up to their examinations for professional qualifications. Such support includes a powerful set of web based tools and resources such as further reading resources, knowledge base, forums, quizzes, assignments, grading, and messaging.
The portal also adds further value to GII membership in the form of learning and career development resources and facilities. Such resources include a knowledgebase of searchable collections of articles, books, papers, and blogs—all of which are screened by GII faculty and organized into a database. Also available on the portal are glossaries of insurance terms, wikis, access to group subscriptions for authoritative online resources, members’ blogs and forums enabling peer to peer exchange of ideas and knowledge, offers on registrations for conferences and events in the region, and a reference source for GII’s hard copy library.
GII also works with other leading professional qualification providers, such as the Securities and Investment Institute (UK), Chartered Insurance Institute, Securities and Investment Institute and the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UK) and the American Insurance Institute (AICPCU) and Society of Actuaries (USA).
