According to a study by Dubai’s Zayed University and New Zealand’s Massey University, women in the UAE are three times more likely to use Twitter on a daily basis than their counterparts in the US. The joint research, which observed the social networking habits of 167 women in the UAE, also found around 60% of the respondents check their Twitter feeds several times a day, tweeting about their personal thoughts and philosophy as opposed to news or current events. In contrast, the women who participated in the survey said they did not like the more complex and awkward layout of Facebook. The study found women are massively leaving the network, with one third saying they are regular users of Facebook.
