Egypt property tax set to be postponed until 2013

The Egyptian cabinet is to announce a decision to delay the implementation of a property tax from January 2012 to January 2013, Ahram has reported, citing unnamed official sources. The move is aimed at fixing deficiencies in the existing law and to help “accommodate social and economic needs of the Egyptian people,” according to finance minister Hazem El-Beblawi.
