Market by Jean-Georges at W Doha Hotel & Residences demonstrated its continued leadership in the Middle Eastern F&B marketplace, taking home the top prize for Doha’s only category at the annual BBC Good Food Awards Middle East. The successful restaurant that is influenced by world-renowned three star Michelin Chef, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, was awarded as ‘Restaurant of the Year, Doha’ at what is considered to be one of the most highly anticipated award ceremonies in the region.
This is the first time that a Doha category has been included in the awards, which since launching in 2010 has continued to grow in popularity. From family-friendly diners to casual cafes, the awards are a chance for voters to get their favourite outlets recognised at the well-respected annual event. Nominations for each category were based on over 2,000 individual votes in conjunction with the verdict of an independent panel of judges who awarded votes based on specific criteria of service, quality, ambience and attention to detail.
The awards reinforced Market’s position as a popular hangout in Doha, serving only the freshest ingredients under the watchful eye of its Michelin star chef. The casual yet elegant hotspot delights the sophisticated palates of cosmopolitan gourmands. Well known for delivering inventive dishes, guests are able to try new flavour combinations and explore spices from other regions, whilst remaining close to home.
W Doha Hotel & Residences General Manager Safak Guvenc comments, “We are honoured to have been recognized for our B&F offerings at such a highly rated award ceremony. To take home the award for Doha’s only category is fantastic and speaks volumes about the quality and consistency of Market’s position as a leading culinary destination”.
