BNY Mellon strengthens Treasury Services team in Middle East and Africa region

BNY Mellon, the global leader in investment management and investment services, has announced two new appointments within its Treasury Services business in the Europe, Middle East & Africa region.

Bana Akkad Azhari has taken on the role of Head of Relationship Management for the Middle East & North Africa region, while Cihat Takunyaci becomes Head of Relationship Management for Turkey, Russia, and CIS. Both will become members of Treasury Services' EMEA management team.

Azhari retains her existing regional and country management responsibilities for the Levant and North Africa, reporting jointly into Dominic Broom, Head of Sales and Relationship Management and Tarek Elrefai, Head of Global Client Management, Middle East & Africa.

Takunyaci will continue as Country Manager for Turkey and Azerbaijan, and will also report jointly into Broom and Elrefai.

Dominic Broom said: "Bana and Cihat bring broad experience, regional knowledge and subject matter expertise to their newly expanded roles and they will both play a key role in respect of BNY Mellon' s business development and growth ambitions in these emerging markets."

Tarek Elrefai said: "Turkey, Russia and the MENA region have been one of the key growth engines for Treasury Services and for the company overall, for a number of years. Under Bana and Cihat's leadership, we expect this growth story to continue into 2013 and beyond."
