Boeing promises quick action once FAA approves 787 fix
- USA: Tuesday, March 05 - 2013 at 05:34
Boeing has said it would move 'really fast' to get its grounded 787s flying again after it wins approval from the FAA for its proposed battery fix, AFP has reported. Ray Conner, president and chief executive of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said the US plane maker had only presented its fix to the Federal Aviation Administration on February 22. Once the FAA approves the plan "we will move really fast" with testing and certification to get the airplanes "out there," he said. After 200,000 hours of analysis and tests, "we feel very good about the fix. We've covered the waterfront, so to speak," he said.
