Starwood Hotels and Resorts plans Egypt expansion

Egypt: 1 hour, 7 minutes ago
Starwood Hotels and Resorts is pressing ahead with plans to expand in Egypt, despite disruption to a number of projects and the decline in the tourism industry caused by political and social upheaval, The National has reported. "We think there's tremendous scope," said Neil George, Starwood vice president of acquisitions and development, Middle East and Africa. Egypt "will always remain a massive tourist destination just because of what it has to offer. We're waiting for everything to come back to normal, so we can get going back in that country again," George said. The company believes that there are further opportunities for it to open more hotels in areas including Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Cairo, he added.
