The municipality of Dubai has said campers planning to set up tents in uninhabited outdoor spaces in Dubai, especially desert areas, will soon have to obtain a permit from the civic body, Khaleej Times has reported. According to the decision, which coincides with the commencement of the winter camping season, people seeking to put up tents have to obtain a prior occupancy permit, which will be valid for six months and will not be beyond the end of April every year. The ordinance has also stipulated 22 fils per square metre, collected under the name of 'land occupancy entertainment' fee.
