CDNetworks joins customer ecosystem in datamena

  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, March 06 - 2013 at 16:37
  • PRESS RELEASE

datamena, the carrier neutral data centre and connectivity platform based in the UAE and servicing the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, is pleased to announce that CDNetworks, a leading provider of global cloud acceleration, has joined its customer ecosystem.

"CDNetworks will improve the end-user experience for content and cloud services in the MEA region. International network operators will be able to interconnect with CDNetworks over the UAE-IX, the region's leading Internet Exchange, which is located in datamena," said Farid Faraidooni, Chief Commercial Officer, Du.

"We are proud that CDNetworks has chosen datamena and look forward to delivering further value to our customers," he added.

As part of the datamena ecosystem, CDNetworks offers content acceleration, dynamic web acceleration, and media streaming. With datamena, CDNetworks brings content closer to users in MEA, resulting in faster website and content downloads, from seconds to milliseconds.

"CDNetworks customers will benefit greatly from the datamena ecosystem when looking to reach the Middle East and Africa," said Jeff Kim, President & COO Americas/EMEA, CDNetworks.

"Both of these regions are seeing tremendous growth in internet usage and CDNetworks customers welcome the increased ability to reach their audiences," he added.

From 2000-2012, Africa and the Middle East internet usage grew by 3,607% and 2,640% respectively according to Internet World Stats. That's more than twice the growth in China, but still only 16% of the population in Africa and 40% in the Middle East, leaving a lot of room for growth.

CDNetworks customers are increasingly looking to reach these markets with retail goods, cloud applications, travel services, and financial platforms.
