Entrepreneurship Centre is planned at Ahlia University

Under the patronage of Prof. Abdulla Al Hawaj, President of Ahlia University, Ahlia Training and Development Centre and the Arab Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship & Investment Training (ARCEIT) of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) conducted an orientation session on the establishment of Entrepreneurship Centre at Ahlia University.
Representatives of ARCEIT - UNIDO explained that the Entrepreneurship Centre aims at providing training and guidance to potential entrepreneurs with respect to opening new and successful business ventures and educating them on the mechanisms and techniques to cope with the changes in market driving factors.
In his opening remarks, Professor Al-Hawaj emphasized the importance of implementing modern techniques of teaching and highlighted the role of the University in promoting entrepreneurship and the contributions of both faculty members and students in setting up the proposed new Entrepreneurship Centre to achieve successful process of knowledge transfer.
ARCEIT - UNIDO Consultant, Dr. Ilene gave an overview about the nature of the project, and its overall objectives. Mrs. Dominic, also from ARCEIT - UNIDO explained the practical steps to establish the EC. She said that the first step was for faculty members to attend a special 25 hour training programme to introduce them to the tools and techniques applied by the Centre and the overall concept of business incubators. Upon successful completion of this programme, participants will be qualified as certified business counselors.
