- PRESS RELEASE
Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) has hosted the first of its twice-yearly briefings for the Abu Dhabi Concierge Group to update the front-line destination ambassadors on the latest in the emirate's rapidly expanding tourism proposition.
"It gave the group members a chance to check out one of our leading attractions and for authority officials to update them on our exciting, year-round events programme, including the 'Birth of a Museum' exhibition running at Manarat Al Saadiyat until late July," explained Khalid Hadi, Executive Director Marketing & Communications, TCA Abu Dhabi.
The group was also given a hands-on demonstration of Abu Dhabi's official destination website - visitabudhabi.ae - and encouraged to use it as its first portal of call for the latest tourism-related information. They also heard of plans for additional digital resources, due on line this year, including improved social media channels and multiplatform mobile apps.
"The destination's tourism offering is expanding rapidly and it is important that these visitor-facing ambassadors are fully up-to-date with all attractions and events to be able to pass on the information to their guests. It is one more avenue for us to be able to spread the message that there is now much more to do and see in Abu Dhabi," added Hadi.
TCA Abu Dhabi is now planning to stage its second concierge update meeting at the end of July at the Yas Waterworld aqua park on Yas Island.
"It's great to not only read about the attractions but to get to see them first-hand," said Jerome Rodrigo, Abu Dhabi Concierge Group President.
"Having experienced the attractions we can better bring them to life for our guests."
