Contracts for Jubail-Dammam railway link to be awarded before year-end

The Saudi Railway Co (SAR) has said contracts for construction of the planned 115-km rail link between the industrial city of Jubail and Dammam are expected to be awarded before the end of 2012, Reuters has reported. "Bids were received and they are under evaluation," said Bashar Almalik, SAR's director of civil and track works. "The project will be awarded before the end of the year," he said, without providing details on the financial value of the contracts.
