  • United Arab Emirates: Thursday, February 07 - 2013 at 12:15
  • PRESS RELEASE

Airport passengers at Dubai International have become the first in the Middle East to enjoy their Costa Coffee in a Metropolitan design store, following the launch of the Middle East's first airport Metropolitan Costa store at Terminal 3 Concourse A, on January 2nd 2013.

The Costa Metropolitan at Dubai International is the 300th Costa Coffee store in the Middle East, where Emirates Leisure Retail already operates more than 90 Costa Coffee stores (in the United Arab Emirates). This store was also the first to serve the new and stylish range of Costa Corto coffees - which are unique to the Middle East.

Costa's new Dubai International store features the new contemporary and award winning Metropolitan store design concept, providing travelling customers with a more urban atmosphere. Costa's new Metropolitan store concept is distinguished by a totally different design and fresh look and feel. The space evokes a contemporary urban atmosphere with a new layout and carefully arranged space with fashion-function furniture and fixtures. The Metropolitan design concept won the 2011 Gold Award for Best Design by the British Consortium of Shopping Centres.

At the new Metropolitan Costa, travellers can find the Costa Coffee variety of hot and cold drinks as well as its fresh food range. A team of expert baristas prepare and serve passengers with their favourite coffees, all created using Costa's famous Mocha Italia blend - the classic short espresso, cappuccino, flat white or a refreshing iced coffee or iced lemonade, and the new Costa Corto range, are all prepared with the same passion and care, to deliver the best coffee experience in an airport, anywhere in the world, along with Costa's fresh food range, 24/7.

Mr Eric Hughes, General Manager of Costa Coffee UAE, said: "Dubai was the location for Costa's first international store in 1999, and the first Metropolitan Costa outside the UK, and so we are now delighted to open the Middle East's first Metropolitan Costa airport store, at Dubai International. This new store offers travelling Costa Coffee lovers the same coffee experience that they know and love but in a completely new look and ambience - and with a coffee range unique to the Middle East."

Costa Corto is the same coffee lover's Costa coffee but shorter, more intense, smooth and sweet and served in a glass along with a specially made complementary almond biscotti, Corto is the stylish new way to enjoy Costa Coffee including the new Metropolitan Costa at Dubai International Terminal 3 Concourse A, and where highly skilled Costa Baristas are ready to show off their skills in preparing handmade coffees.

Like all the best things, Corto comes in a small package and in threes; they all start with Costa's mocha Italia espresso and then it's the Barista magic that creates the new range of classic milk, sweet chocolate and ultimate black pick me ups, that make up the Corto coffees - Classic Corto, Mocha Corto, Black Corto.
