Culture and Co announces grand success in ADIBF 2013

Culture and Co, the French bookstore of the Emirates, announced their impressive success during their participation at the 23rd Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF), this year's event which started on the 24th of April came up with a thrilling end and has shown a 23% increase in exhibition space and 13% uplift in exhibitor's number, enhancing the reputation of ADIBF that is now considered to be one of the largest and best book exhibitions in the region.
Renata Sader, owner of the Culture & Co, commented, "The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is known as an annual event, which brings something unique each year. I consider it a place and time when particular group of people get together, learn from each other, and celebrate the written word."
"The book fair is a natural place for us to be with our cultural partners, in order to promote the French culture and lifestyle, targeting all French speaking communities in the region. Also it is considered a platform to all those who are interested in French culture and way of life in general," Renata added.
The French pavilion, hosted by the BIEF - International Agency of the French Book Publishing Industry - witnessed a series of events which included book signings with over 10 famous authors - having Jerome Ferrari the French Abu Dhabi resident winner of this year's prestigious Goncourt Award.
In addition to the above authors, there were nine other novelists signing their books: Kenize Mourad, Rachid Boudjedra , Amara Lakhous, Samar Yazbek, Nihad Sirees, Guy Delisle, Quentin Gréban, Stephen Tunney, Jacques Ferrandez, as well as Kyra Dupont Troubetzkoy. The activity program covered different things, having round tables with authors, booking signing and debates with the authors about the themes of their writing.
"At the book fair there was something for everyone, with school kids running about the creativity corner, women browsing the long aisles and men finally picking that book that they should have read. The business goes on as usual but in dedicated spaces, giving the fair a healthy mix of culture and commerce, In this regard, ADIBF has been a great success," Renata added.
