Dana Gas to join Lebanon's gas exploration saga

The Abu Dhabi market index ADXGI ended up 1.82% at 3,153.03 points. The UAE's first telecom firm Etisalat shaved the Dhs10-resistance by gaining 1.01% to hit Dhs10.05. First Gulf Bank surged 3.80%, finishing at Dhs15.05. Abu Dhabi National Energy Co. (Taqa) and Dana Gas closed unchanged at Dhs1.40 and Dhs0.48, respectively. Earlier in the day, Sharjah-based Dana Gas said it was awarded an offshore block in Egypt in the Nile Delta (North El-Arish), consisting of a 20-year lease period. In addition, Dana has also been pre-qualified as a non-operator in Lebanon's 1st offshore licensing round. "Dana Gas will be able to bid as non-operator in the licensing round which opens on 2nd May," the company said in an e-mailed statement.
