DeG and DTCM discuss means of supporting tourist sector with more eServices

H.E. Ahmed Bin Humaidan, Director General of Dubai eGovernment (DeG) Department welcomed the recent visit of Director-General, H.E Hilal Saeed Al Marri of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) with both promising to work closely to enhance government connectivity for the tourist sector in Dubai.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the means of further developing their relations and supporting DTCM's efforts towards eTransformation. They also discussed the role that DeG could play to develop its eServices provided to the government entities with the aim of serving the tourist sector in general and contributing to easing the needs and transaction of visitors to Dubai.

The meeting was held at DeG's headquarters at HH Ruler's Court and was also attended by Wesam Lootah, DeG Asst. Director-General, and Sumaia Khalifa Bin Hammad, DeG Director of Communication and Business Development.

Bin Humaidan said: "This visit has special importance for enhancing government connectivity through exchanging expertise with DTCM and coordinating efforts to support the emirate's growing tourist sector with more eServices required to raise the operating efficiency of this sector through capitalizing on DeG's existing potentials."

Al Marri was given a presentation of DeG's most important eServices that DTCM is currently benefiting from for running its internal operations such as the government resources planning (GRP) system, eComplain, eSuggest, mDubai, eSupport and the Unified Government Services Repository (GeSS).

Recently, DTCM signed a joint agreement for settling the fees of the tourist sector's transactions and easing its procedures via DeG's ePay portal, helping the public save the trouble of visiting its headquarters for direct payment of fees.

Meanwhile, Al Marri underlined the necessity for combining efforts and optimizing its shared services provided by DeG for developing the services offered to the tourist sector. He underscored the necessity for organizing more bilateral meetings and visits, these being optimal platforms for exchanging the best practices and exploring the potentials and expertise of DeG for achieving government integration and pushing the wheel of digital transformation forward in Dubai and the UAE.
