Department of Municipal Affairs participates in European Quality Management Forum

In its continuous efforts to enhance quality management and lead business excellence across the municipal system in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, a delegation of the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) attended the European Foundation for Quality Management Forum 2012 (EFQM)in Brussels.

The delegation was headed by H.E. Mohamed Sughair Al Dhaheri, Managing Director of the Support Service Sector in the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) and included a number of employees in the quality management and excellency division in the DMA.

The DMA is participating in the event to enhance performance and excellency standard, in the Municipal work which leads to better service provided to the residents of the Emirate.

The forum took place this year with a theme of 'Fit for the Future' and discussed topics such as what might be needed for organizations, people to be 'fit for the future'.

The participants had the opportunity to learn and hear more on key topics like; What is the next big step in excellence, what Excellence would mean for future generations, What are the strategic challenges and how to prepare the organization to face them and what are the megatrends and what would be their impact on organizations? Also How leaders would take responsibility for organization's future and what competencies would be needed in the future.

The Forum program featured also the following topics and working papers titled "Future of Europe", 'Future Markets', 'Future Talents' and 'Future Technologies' and its effect on quality management and excellency standard in the organization.

Commenting on the DMA participation in the forum, H.E. Mohamed Sughair Al Dhaheri, Managing Director of the Support Service Sector in the Department of Municipal Affairs, said, "This forum forms an international platform to exchange knowledge and experience in quality management techniques and excellency best practices with the best European private and public entities in similar business which will help the Municipal System to enhance its journey towards excellency and its services provided to the public."

At the forum, the Department of Municipal Affair's delegation discussed with some of the best European organizations best practices of quality management and business excellence and exchanged knowledge and experience that will enable to enhance the efficiency and standard of Municipal services.
