Deposits with Omani lenders up 14% in February

Oman's central bank has said the aggregate deposits held with commercial banks in the sultanate jumped 14% to OR14.47bn in February 2013, compared with OR12.69bn a year ago, Times of Oman has reported. The share of households was 48.2% of the total private sector deposit base, followed by non-financial corporations at 26.1%, financial corporations at 24.3% (of which pension funds accounted for 21.4%) and other sectors at 1.4%, the central bank said.
