Dewa engages Gitex Shoppers with 'Do Good to Planet Earth'

To support the Dubai government's strategy of sustainable development, reinforce its pioneering role in raising awareness in the society and achieve its vision to be a sustainable world-class utility, the 'Do Good to Planet Earth' campaign of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority 'Dewa' will take centre stage at the utility's stand at Gitex Shopper 2012 between 29 September and 6 October 2012.
This year, Dewa chose their 'Home Appliances' campaign to lead the way for the latest introductions in technology.
This campaign constitutes an effort by Dewa, its partners and, most importantly, consumers who are adapting their daily lives towards greener living for best results of conservation in personal and public resources.
"Dewa's participation in this year's Gitex Shopper fits with Dubai's Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, which outlines an energy resource diversification plan and promotes reduction of energy consumption through awareness and conservation campaigns, fulfilling the nation's long-term economic initiative, 'Green Economy for Sustainable Development' from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Dubai's vision to promote green living, based on a number of policies, programmes, and environmental initiatives to secure our precious natural resources and find energy-efficient solutions," said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dewa.
"Our involvement in this year's event is a continuation to the recently launched 'Do Good to Planet Earth' campaign by Dewa to raise awareness in society about the importance of selecting environmentally-friendly home appliances to save electricity and water in fulfillment of Dewa's strategy to secure natural resources, reduce consumption levels, and provide a sustainable environment," said Khawla Al Mehairi, Vice President of Marketing & Corporate Communications at Dewa.
Commenting on Dewa's participation at Gitex Shopper 2012, Amal Koshak, Senior Manager of Marketing Communications at Dewa said, "As a Strategic Partner for the exhibition, Dewa is reaching out to IT consumers to inform and engage with them on the latest eco-friendly home appliances that can save electricity and water as well as consumers' money on monthly bills. The 'Do Good to Planet Earth' campaign will be creatively communicated during Gitex Shopper through mainstream media with supporting marketing collateral and information materials.
