DEWA organises Health and Safety Week

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), inaugurated the 4th Health and Safety Week held at Reef Mall in Dubai. The event featured lectures on health and principles of first aid, painting workshops, safe driving licences for children, several contests on safety and free medical tests.

"The Health and Safety Week supports our vision to become a sustainable world-class utility, and adopt the highest international standards of safety and health. The event is a part of our strategy based on adhering to integrated administrative systems to promote health and safety," said Al Tayer.

"With a focus on the sustainable use of resources, and to provide water and electricity at the highest levels of reliability, efficiency and safety, we are committed to providing the highest international standards of health and safety for our employees, customers, partners and community. DEWA has the expertise and qualified staff to fulfil its commitments," added Al Tayer.

"The Sword of Honour for Health and Safety and the Globe of Honour for Environment received from the British Safety Council, are testament to our committed efforts to adhere to the highest standards of health, safety and environment," concluded Al Tayer.

"At DEWA, we adopt best practices to protect our staff, customers and working environment from any concerns that might affect the health of employees or the safety of facilities and equipment. We continuously organise training programmes and awareness campaigns to prevent any work accidents or injuries enabling us to reduce wasted hours and strengthening organisational efficiency," said Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support at DEWA.
